Searching for the autoexec.bat file using Windows search yields no results. However, running the DIR command from a DOS window shows that there IS an autoexec.bat file AND a config.sys file on the C drive. But the DIR command reports that both contain 0 bytes. I suspect Win XP still runs the autoexec.bat file upon startup, but as delivered on my XP computer, the file is empty. Apparently, I will have to modify the autoexec.bat file from within DOS. Anybody done that?

: Right, thanks. But I'd like to create my own with my own "special" message.

: : Most PCs allow you to assign a CMOS/BIOS password.
