I'll take a chance on your not running MS-Dos but the command shell in Windows, perhaps XP. There is no MS-Dos in Windows XP (or Win 7).
To change drives at the Command Prompt enter just the drive letter (e.g. D:) or if you simply must use CD enter the command CD /D D:
