Syntax:
VOL [d:]
Purpose: Displays a disk`s volume label.
Discussion
The VOL command is used to display the volume label. It is not used to
add or
change the volume label on a disk. For information on how to create,
change, or
delete the volume label, refer to the LABEL command in this chapter.
Example
To display the volume label for the disk in drive A, enter
vol a:
the program displays:
Volume in drive A is (label)
If the designated disk does not have a volume label, the program
displays:
